生化机理(R)-Ibuprofen, a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory, is the less active enantiomer of ibuprofen, an inhibitor of Cox-1 and Cox-2. Most of the activity resides in (S)-ibuprofen. It has been observed that the inversion of R(-)-ibuprofen to the S(+) antipode occurs in rat liver but not in either serosal or mucosal sides of the small intestine. (R)-Ibuprofen’s presence can be detected in urine throμgh mass chromatography. A liquid-chromatographic assay has been used to study the pharmacokinetics of the (S)- and (R)-Ibuprofen forms in plasma.
