Zincon is a formazan dye,[1] that serves as a metal indicator and is applicable in chelometric titration.[2] It is used in spectrometric analysis.[1] The metal-zincon complex formed shows a prominent absorption band in the visible region.[3] Zincon is also used in solid support electrophoresis for staining zinc proteins.[1]
