一般描述

TERGITOL™ TMN 10, a heterogeneous[1] non-ionic amphiphilic surfactant[2] has a hydrophobic moiety of 2,6,8-trimethyl-4-nonanol and a hydrophilic side chain of polyoxyethylene glycol with an average of 10 ethylene oxide units.[1] This alkyl-substituted surfactant[1] is soluble in water and most polar organic solvents.[3]

Tergitol series surfactants are polyethoxylated secondary alcohols[3] that can be used as foam-controlling agents.
