Silver sulfate (Ag
2SO
4) is the disilver(I) salt of sulfuric acid. It participates in the TiO
2-assisted photooxidation of substituted benzyltrimethylsilanes in acetonitrile. Diarylethanes were obtained in 50-74% yields.
[1] It has been reported as one of the common atmospheric silver corrosion product.
