General description
Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is an important metabolic product of trichloroethylene (TCE) metabolism.
Application
Trichloroacetic acid has been used:
• for protein precipitation[3]
• as a component in the extract solution used for the measurement of malondialdehyde and glutathione[4]
• to precipitate the transfected and treated cells in [3H]-thymidine incorporation assay[5]
100, 250, 500 g in glass bottle
Biochem/physiol Actions
TCA might act as a carcinogen, targeting liver.[1] It might be used as an acid decalcifying agent. TCA helps in nuclear staining.[2]
